# AI training jobs with no experience

You can start AI training work without an AI background. Begin with voice recording, rating AI answers or annotation. Roles that ask for no degree, no licence and no or minimal work history currently show a median top rate of $27/hr (typical $18–$37/hr, from 111 distinct rates across 517 live roles).

"No experience" here means the posting asks for no degree, no licence and no or minimal work history, the same rule as our live list of roles that need no experience. It does not mean no standards. Platforms will still fail you for ignoring a rubric, inventing facts, or writing vague justifications.

The on-ramps are voice and video recording, rating model answers, and some annotation and writing. Right now the live list of roles that need no experience has 274 voice and audio roles, 61 roles rating AI answers and 45 video and photo roles. Some writing roles take beginners, but most want people who already edit. Expert and coding tracks will reject you if you cannot show the underlying skill, and they should.

## What to apply to first

- Roles whose title you can explain in one sentence without pretending.
- Rating, ranking and writing tasks that ask for judgment, not a degree.
- Fresh listings. A week-old "easy" role is often already full.
- Two or three platforms, not twelve. Each assessment costs an evening.

Skip any posting that asks for a medical licence, a bar number, a CPA or "10+ years in quantitative research" unless that is literally you. Those rates look exciting and they are not the beginner market.

## How beginners actually get accepted

- Prepare a spoken answer about your real work: what you do, one concrete example, one result. Interviews open with that.
- Follow the posted rubric more carefully than you follow your own taste. The test is compliance plus judgment.
- When you rank two answers, point at a sentence. "B is better" is a fail.
- Do not use a VPN on identity checks. Do not start an interview you cannot finish.

> From my experience: I have been accepted on roles that were adjacent to my background and rejected on roles that looked easier on paper. Fit is about whether you can explain the work, not about whether the title says junior.

The live list of roles that need no experience holds 517 of today's 3,293 open roles. Start there, sort by newest, and apply the same day.

## Common questions

### Can I get paid to train AI with no degree?

Yes, on voice and video recording, general rating, and some annotation and writing work. A degree is not the gate. Following instructions is. Specialist tracks will still ask for the relevant credential.

### What is the lowest-barrier platform?

The lowest barrier is a live listing you can explain, not a brand. DataAnnotation is a talent-pool route with public recruitment tracks and role-specific listed pay, but assessment and matching determine whether you reach paid work and at what rate. Feed platforms on this site show the top rate before you apply. Treat every figure as a ceiling or starting point, not a promise of work.

### How much can a beginner earn?

Roles that need no experience currently show a median top rate of $27/hr (typical $18–$37/hr, from 111 distinct rates across 517 live roles). That is listed pay, not take-home, and queues go quiet. Do not budget a rent payment against it.

Method: rates are read from each platform's own public job feed. One vote per unique platform+rate band, counted at the top of the band (the most the role says it can pay). Per-task pay is never converted to hourly. No benchmark is published below 5 distinct listed rates. Population: since 2026-08-26 a role must show at least $10/hr (or $10 per task) to be listed, so these figures describe listed roles rather than all AI work; lower-paid rating work exists and is not represented.
