"No experience" here means no machine-learning job and no specialist licence. It does not mean no standards. Platforms will still fail you for ignoring a rubric, inventing facts, or writing vague justifications.
The on-ramps are rating model answers, writing reference responses, and some annotation. Expert and coding tracks will reject you if you cannot show the underlying skill, and they should.
What to apply to first
- Roles whose title you can explain in one sentence without pretending.
- Rating, ranking and writing tasks that ask for judgment, not a degree.
- Fresh listings. A week-old "easy" role is often already full.
- Two or three platforms, not twelve. Each assessment costs an evening.
Skip any posting that asks for a medical licence, a bar number, a CPA or "10+ years in quantitative research" unless that is literally you. Those rates look exciting and they are not the beginner market.

How beginners actually get accepted
- Prepare a spoken answer about your real work: what you do, one concrete example, one result. Interviews open with that.
- Follow the posted rubric more carefully than you follow your own taste. The test is compliance plus judgment.
- When you rank two answers, point at a sentence. "B is better" is a fail.
- Do not use a VPN on identity checks. Do not start an interview you cannot finish.

- Can I get paid to train AI with no degree?
- Yes, on general rating, writing and some annotation work. A degree is not the gate. Following instructions is. Specialist tracks will still ask for the relevant credential.
- What is the lowest-barrier platform?
- The lowest barrier is a live listing you can explain, not a brand. Profile-only platforms such as DataAnnotation are famous as beginner doors. DataAnnotation publishes starting rates by work type on its FAQ, but the rate on your own project shows only once you are inside. Feed platforms on this site at least show the advertised top rate before you apply.
- How much can a beginner earn?
