Statistics Expert (AI Training)
About the Role
We're looking for Statistics Experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on quantitative reasoning and statistical content. Your expertise will directly shape how AI understands probability, causal inference, hypothesis testing, and experimental design — making a real impact on the quality and reliability of next-generation AI models.
- Organization: Labelbox - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: Flexible, asynchronous — minimum 15 hrs/week
What You'll Do
Read the rest of the description (7 more paragraphs)
* Label and categorize statistical expressions, datasets, equations, and problems to build high-quality AI training data * Map relationships between statistical concepts — including probability distributions, hypothesis testing, regression, and causal inference — to help AI models understand the structure of the field * Review and evaluate AI-generated solutions to statistics problems, identifying errors and providing clear, step-by-step corrections * Develop comprehensive training content spanning a wide range of statistical topics and difficulty levels * Red-team AI outputs to surface biases, inaccuracies, or reasoning failures, and design targeted tests to ensure robust, real-world performance
Who You Are
* Deep expertise in probability and statistics, demonstrated through research, teaching, or applied work * Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field * Able to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly and precisely in written English * Detail-oriented with experience building or reviewing rigorous technical or educational content * Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in an asynchronous environment
Nice to Have
* Hands-on experience with causal inference and experimental design * Background in data science, econometrics, biostatistics, or quantitative social science * Prior experience with data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation workflows
Why Join Us
* Work on cutting-edge AI projects trusted by leading research labs and Fortune 500 teams * Fully remote and asynchronous — work from anywhere, on your own schedule * High-impact work: your contributions directly improve AI models used at scale * Clear ownership of your tasks with real autonomy to deliver quality work * Consistent high performers take on expanded responsibilities and mentor incoming subject matter experts * Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
