The role, as Alignerr describes it
Chemistry Expert (Masters/PhDs) | AI Training
About the Role
What if your years of chemistry expertise could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex scientific problems in the world? We're looking for Masters and PhD-level chemists to design, solve, and evaluate advanced chemistry problems that train the next generation of AI models — making them sharper, more rigorous, and genuinely scientifically literate.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for serious chemistry experts. No AI background needed — just deep domain knowledge and a commitment to scientific excellence.
- Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Read the rest of the description (7 more paragraphs)
* Design and solve complex, real-world chemistry problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry * Review and evaluate AI-generated chemistry content for scientific accuracy, depth, and rigor * Craft challenging problem statements that push the boundaries of AI reasoning in the sciences * Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to refine model outputs * Ensure all deliverables meet a high standard of scientific clarity and correctness
Who You Are
* Hold a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field * Deep expertise in at least one core area: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry * Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry tools (e.g., Gaussian, VASP) * Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely * Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in an asynchronous environment * Fluent in English
Nice to Have
* Prior experience with data annotation, scientific evaluation, or quality assurance workflows * Familiarity with AI tools or model evaluation platforms * Experience designing coursework, exams, or research problems at an advanced level * Background in cheminformatics, molecular modeling, or materials science
Why Join Us
* Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside world-leading research labs * Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you * Put your expertise to work on problems that actually matter at the frontier of science and AI * Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work * Contribute to AI systems that will shape how science is understood and communicated globally * Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
