How to get a job on AfterQuery, step by step
By Alex. First published 2026-10-18. Sources checked 2026-10-18.
AfterQuery assesses you for an expert pool and matches contributors to projects. Before starting, check that the pool fits your expertise and that you can give the assessment your full attention.
This guide follows AfterQuery's published instructions, checked on 18 October 2026. It is a documentation-based walkthrough.
1. Choose an available expert pool
The Assessments tab shows the pools currently open. Each has its own assessment and time estimate. Use the estimate on the screen. There is no one duration that applies to every pool.

2. Take the assessment carefully
Assessments are unpaid. There is one attempt per pool, with no retake or reassessment. You can try other pools, but each is assessed independently. Read the submission instructions before beginning.
3. Understand the result and the wait
AfterQuery does not issue an explicit pass or fail notice. It contacts you when your assessment fits a relevant project. Completing an assessment does not establish that work is available for you immediately.
4. Complete the onboarding checklist
Use the Google account you applied with. The documented setup takes about 10 to 15 minutes and has four required steps: agreements, phone verification, identity verification through Persona, and Stripe payment setup. Connecting LinkedIn is optional.
Have your ID, camera and payment details ready. Stripe performs its own verification. Follow the account's instructions carefully, including its country and bank-account requirements.

5. Follow the separate project invitation
Selection brings a separate welcome email with project-specific next steps. These may include joining the project's workspace and reading its guidelines. Finishing onboarding alone does not establish a project assignment.
Check the project's rate, approved work and payout instructions before starting. Record assessment time separately so you can judge the total effort as well as the listed rate.
AfterQuery can change these steps. Follow the instructions in your account. If something differs from this guide, use Ask Alex or email contact@aipaylist.com so we can check and update it.
