The role, as Alignerr describes it

Physics Expert or Specialist (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your deep expertise in physics could directly shape how AI reasons through the hardest problems in science? We're looking for Physics Experts to challenge, evaluate, and improve the world's most advanced AI models — ensuring they can think rigorously through mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and beyond.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for physicists. No AI background needed — just a strong command of physics and the ability to think clearly and precisely.

- Organization: Alignerr - Type: Hourly Contract - Location: Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

Read the rest of the description (7 more paragraphs)

* Design challenging, advanced physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and related domains * Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate clear, logical reasoning * Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, problem-solving quality, and depth of reasoning * Identify gaps, errors, and weaknesses in how AI models approach complex physics topics * Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to PhD-level physics * Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

* Pursuing or holding a PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced physics domains * Able to communicate complex concepts clearly and precisely in writing * Detail-oriented and methodical — you care about getting the reasoning right, not just the answer * Self-motivated and reliable when working independently * No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

* Experience in academic research, teaching, or scientific writing * Prior work with data annotation, evaluation systems, or quality assessment * Familiarity with AI tools or language models as an end user * Breadth across multiple physics subfields — from classical mechanics to quantum systems

Why Join Us

* Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs * Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you * Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work * Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons through science * Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
