AlignerrCoding & software eval
Senior Machine Learning Expert
up to $80/hr
About this role, in Alignerr's words
What if your deep expertise in machine learning could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems reason, plan, and make decisions? We're looking for Senior Machine Learning Experts to do something that matters: write the step-by-step reasoning traces that teach LLMs how to think through complex, real-world problems.
What you'll do
- Author complex, high-fidelity reasoning traces that document step-by-step planning, tool use, and decision-making for sophisticated technical tasks
- Apply senior-level architectural insights to ensure traces reflect how an expert actually thinks — not just what the answer is
- Design and implement data strategies that help LLMs navigate nuanced, real-world scenarios with greater reliability
Show all 5 itemsHide the other 2 in What you'll do
- Review and refine existing traces to ensure optimal structure, clarity, and logical coherence
- Contribute to the development of training data that shapes how next-generation AI models reason under uncertainty
Candidate background
Who You Are
- Deeply experienced in machine learning, AI systems, or a closely related technical field
- Skilled at decomposing complex problems into clear, logical, well-documented steps — you think in structured processes
- Familiar with LLM evaluation, fine-tuning, or training methodologies
- A precise and articulate written communicator — you can explain your reasoning clearly and completely
- Self-directed and reliable when working independently on challenging, open-ended tasks
