The role, as Handshake AI describes it
Opportunity Overview
Handshake is looking for experienced statistical and biostatistical modeling researchers to support AI research through flexible, part-time contract work. This is not a traditional job — you'll draw on your hands-on expertise in applied statistical and biostatistical methods, including statistical modeling, Bayesian inference, causal inference, longitudinal and time series analysis, experimental design, and related quantitative approaches to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand advanced statistical reasoning and methodology.
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current work.
What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance to real-world statistical analysis and methodology
• Provide structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
• Complete tasks at your own pace with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
• Deep expertise in one or more areas of statistical or biostatistical methodology, such as statistical modeling, Bayesian methods, causal inference, regression, experimental design, longitudinal or time-to-event analysis, time series, or related quantitative methods
• Experience applying statistical or biostatistical methods to real-world research questions, data, or scientific problems
• Active engagement with current statistical and/or biostatistical research and literature
• Proficiency with R, Python, Stan, or similar statistical computing and modeling tools
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
