We are running a paid study on the decision-making process behind selecting entry-level photography equipment. We need experienced photography professionals to create a comprehensive methodology guide and record their workflow for assembling a student camera kit.
What We're Researching
We're hiring photography and videography experts to document how professionals recommend entry-level gear. We want to understand the nuanced trade-offs experts make between camera bodies, lenses, and accessories when constrained by a specific budget. Your insights will help establish best practices for outfitting new students entering the field. How It Works
You will deliver a comprehensive written methodology guide of approximately 4,000 words detailing your gear selection philosophy. Alongside the guide, you will provide a 30 to 45-minute narrated screen recording demonstrating your live workflow. This recording should show exactly how you research, compare, and ultimately recommend a complete student camera kit on a fixed beginner budget. The entire task can be completed asynchronously from your own desktop. Who This Is For
We welcome professional photographers, videographers, and camera equipment specialists. Qualified candidates should have extensive hands-on experience evaluating and purchasing camera gear for varying skill levels. If you frequently advise beginners or photography students on how to build their first kit, this project is a perfect fit.
What you would do
• Write a comprehensive methodology guide of approximately 4,000 words on gear selection.
• Record a 30 to 45-minute narrated screen capture of your live research workflow.
• Explain your decision-making process for evaluating camera bodies, lenses, and accessories.
• Assemble a complete student camera kit under a strict budget constraint.
Who this is for
• Professional experience as a photographer, videographer, or gear reviewer
• Deep familiarity with current camera systems and entry-level options
• Ability to produce clear written documentation and high-quality screen recordings
• Comfortable explaining technical trade-offs to a beginner audience
